1.4.500.200 - .NET 2.0 Support

28 Apr 2006

Product download contains two .NET assemblies, one for .NET 1.x and one for .NET 2.0. Support for .NET 1.1 continues to be maintained simultaneously using the 1.1 compiled assembly. Future releases of our products will continue to support both frameworks.

1.4.500 - Revised Version.

21 Apr 2006
  • SearchBlackBox Lucene Edition becomes SearchBlackBox Luca.Net

To remove the ambiguity between two different products - SearchBlackBox SDK and SearchBlackBox Lucene Edition - and avoid any future confusion, the product SearchBlackBox Lucene Edition has been renamed to SearchBlackBox Luca.Net.

Luca.Net is the acronym for LUcene Compatible Api for .NET and indicates the primary purpose of the product: provide the maximum compatibility with Apache Lucene.

Current users of SearchBlackBox Lucene Edition will not be affected and do not have to upgrade.

  • The namespace and the assembly have been renamed

The namespace SearchBlackBox became SearchBlackBox.Luca and the assembly searchblackbox.le.dll became searchblackbox.luca.dll.

To migrate to Luca.net 1.4, you need to replace "SearchBlackBox" with "SearchBlackBox.Luca" in your code and also change references with "searchblackbox.le.dll" to "searchblackbox.luca.dll".

  • The version numbering scheme has changed

We have changed the version numbering scheme for the product.

Now the product version reflects version of Apache Lucene, while the build number is used to denote modifications in this version of Luca.Net.

For example, version number Luca.Net 1.4.500 means that Luca.Net 1.4 is compatible with the last release of Apache Lucene version 1.4 (that is, 1.4.3), while 500 is the build number.

Similarly, Luca.Net 1.9.### will mean that Luca.Net 1.9.### is compatible with the last release of Apache Lucene version 1.9.
